You Don't Exist
Somewhere in my dreams
blue-skinned women dance in the sand
around flames that lick their thighs and calves.
The fire burns my face.
My hair is long and drifts into the water
where it glistens in the light of the moon.
The pull of the waves brought me here.
Now it wants to drag me back.
I am not afraid.
There is only an endless ocean
and the pinprick of our island.
I don’t think about you at all.
